India Plans To Build 23GW Of Solar Energy

The first phase of the project will include a 2.5gw project in Zangla and a 5GW project in Pang in Leh, but the exact location cannot be determined.

The tender, which will be issued by December 15, includes not only the construction of solar projects, but also the entire transmission infrastructure and substations.

Earlier, Indian solar energy corporation (SECI) has issued smaller tenders for mountainous areas, including solar plus storage facilities in himachal pradesh and two 1.5mw (AC) solar power projects, including battery energy storage systems, with 0.75mw / 2.5mwh at two sites in jammu and Kashmir.However, this is not the first time Indian policymakers have talked about solar power in ladakh.
